Check out the 2008 Hike Schedule for the Sheyenne River Valley North Country Trail!

Sat, April 19	Look Better Feel Healthier! Barnes County On the Move and NCT members invite you to join them in their spring activities. NCT begins with a hike along the Valley City segment of the North Country Trail. Meet at the Rosebud Visitor Center parking lot at 10:00 am.
Sun, May 18	Hike the Sheyenne State Forest Surround yourself with nature's beauty. Join NCT members as they hike to North Dakota's only natural waterfall (approximately 4.5 miles). Bring your camera to get a snapshot of the waterfall and if you're lucky you may also get a chance to see the wildlife that roam the area. Meet at the Rosebud Visitor Center parking lot to carpool at 1:30 pm OR meet at map kiosk on south side of Martinson Bridge at 2:30 pm.
Sat, June 7	National Trails Day The SRV Chapter celebrate National Trails Day with various activities for the family. All activities will be held at Lake Ashtabula. Meet at the Lake Ashtabula Project Office on the west side of Baldhill Dam at 10:00 am.
Sun, June 8	WANTED! Beginner & Experienced Canoers Enjoy the tranquility of the flowing Sheyenne River waters in an unforgettable canoeing experience. Two-hour canoe trip down the Sheyenne River will start from the Fort Ransom State Park Visitor Center at 12:30 pm. Canoe rental is $14.00/canoe and vehicle entrance fees required. Meet at the Rosebud Visitor Center at 10:45 am to carpool to Fort Ransom State Park - pack a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park or visit a Fort Ransom eatery if desired.
Sat, June 14	Rally in the Valley Join NCT members in promoting the chapter and trails by participating in the Rally in the Valley parade. Meet at Jefferson School at 9:30 am.
Tue, July 8	Explore the Beauty & Serenity of Clausen Springs Carpool to Clausen Springs for a short 2-mile evening hike. Campfire will follow. Meet at the Rosebud Visitor Center parking lot at 6:00 pm OR meet at the main public beach dock area at 7:00 pm.
Sat, July 26	2nd Annual Basthabula All activities will be held at the Mel Rieman Recreation Center beginning at 1:00 pm. For more details, contact the Valley City Chamber of Commerce at 845-1891.
