The meeting was called to order at 8:20 pm by President Joan Young following Trail Time. Trail Time was presented by Jane Schneider of Manistee County Health Department and focused on First Aid for the trail.

Membership stands at 63. Treasurer Mary Soule reported a beginning balance of $1228.80 revised from December as income from map sales and shared interest were added. The $1905.00 in the Heckman Memorial Fund now shows in our account, thus putting our balance at $3133.80.

Minutes of the February meeting were read. Mary moved to approve, Ed seconded. They were approved as read.

Coming activities include the hike on April 14, 76th St. to Bowman Lake. National Trails Day is June 2. The annual Conference is in August at Cazenovia, NY. There was confusion as to the dates. (Correct ones are August 9-12, 2001)

The information concerning the Manistee Visitors Guide options was presented. Ed moved to send in the free information, and let the Forest Service submit a paid ad if they wish to, and we would help with the cost. This was seconded by _________. Motion passed. Joan will submit by deadline, March 31.

Forest Service Report:
• Wells at Udell Hills and Red Bridge are being installed
• The parking space at Udell TH will be extended- club noted no objection
• There is parking at the power line north of Coates Highway
• There is a timber sale near Marilla, but it is over 1/2 mile from the trail
