Minutes of General Meeting of Thursday, December 12, 2002

Members present: Gordie Wilkes, Ramona Venegas, Joan Young, Phil & Natasha Miller, Richard & Deb Krieger

Meeting opened at 7:23 pm by President Rich Krieger

REPORT FROM GOV. LIASON/ RAMONA VENEGAS

Forest Service Report- Revisions to 1:100,000 map sent to Tiffany
Many updates sent including Tribal land, private land Tribal Land- one hold up is that all the FS issues are lumped together and are at lawyer
Reroute north of Tippy Dam would be easy
Blacksmith Bayou reroute would be difficult Landowners- 2 areas where trail actually is on private land
- S of boardwalk significantly encroaches on private land- Wildey
- Will need to reroute
- S of Freesoil TH, north of 51/2 mile- Wolf
- Skirts wetland and gets on his property
- Will try to GPS in the next few weeks
May want to include info about technology discovering these errors in newsletter
FSTAG- Ramona is going to try to attend the training in Cincinnati, Feb 7
She respects Janet Zeller who will be leading it
Richard- he thinks it looks good
Joan- comments from NCTA
- Bob Papp has been working on reviewing the document
- Feels that the long-term impact on the NCT will be minimal, but the documentation will be so complex that another staff person will need to be hired

Secretary-

TA Manual- neither Ed is here- table

Paragraph for April North Star- focused on trail between Upper River Rd and Marilla

CCS Application- looks correct, will submit on time

Saturday wagon ride- looks like it might be a small turnout

Might have Tribal member give program at February meeting- Rich is following up

Heckman's- Rich has not been able to get in contact with them to let them know we have not forgotten them- several tries, but no success

Ramona- Baldwin district has budget problems- there may not be a Trail Coordinator

Rich will also contact Baldwin District in Jan to continue good relations
