Minutes of General Meeting of Thursday, April 10, 2003

Meeting opened at 7:10 pm by President Rich Krieger

Current membership is at 83.

Update from National Trails Day committee- need to find a logging history demonstration. The Sawdust Hole site is ideal and will be easy to stage the event. Krieger's and Young will plan to camp out in advance to hold the desired sites.

Directions were given to reach Loda Lake for the Saturday hike.

The T-shirt contest has still not been completed. Ramona moved that we put the contest on line open to all members. Deb seconded. Joan will put a voting form on the web site, and email all members to vote before May 1, so that we can have completed T-shirts by NTD.

Rob Corbett- the new Director of Trail Management was introduced. He introduced himself and went over his experience/qualifications...also touched on his job duties. He highlighted the letter he sent to the USFS concerning Forest Plan Revision

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 and turned over to Andy Meniman from the Traverse City EMS store. He gave a program for an hour, demonstrating backpacks, stoves, cooking gear, and other backpacking equipment.

EMS Club Days are this Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26, with 20% off for members of an outdoor organization.
