SPW Chapter NCTA Executive Committee Minutes of 2/13/00

Members Present: Ramona Venegas, Mary Soule, Ed Chappel, Joan Young, Angie Addington

Rather than cover the same material twice, the Executive Board spent the time looking at the demographics of our membership in an effort to learn why we don't seem to be able to keep local members.

The following breakdown was noted.
An active member was defined as a person who has been involved in more than one of our actvities in the past year. Of the 64 member families, 28 would be defined as active and 36 as not active.
A local member was defined as living in one of the four counties we are assigned: Manistee, Lake, Mason, Oceana. Of the 64 member families, half are local and half are not.
There have been 14 families who have not renewed their memberships. Most of these have been contacted and various reasons were given ranging from lack of money or time to lack of interest.
It was also noted that of the 124 families on our contact list as of this date there are no non-local people who participate who are not also members.

There was only time to create these lists. We will discuss their significance and possible actions at a future meeting.

Minutes taken by Joan Young in the absense of Ed Morse, secretary.
