Joan reported briefly on the recent Board of Director’s Meeting Detailed report and Minutes are available on the NCTA website. (I looked, they really are!)
Ed Chappel reported on the condition of Trail Blazing. This project is nearly finished, just a short length of trail to be blazed yet. Ed Has it under control. Joan has filed an Interim Report – reports are required by the Park Service as a condition of the Grants.
Membership now stands at 63.
The NCTA office, now located in downtown Grand Rapids, will be moved to Lowell. The new location will be just 2 blocks from the trail.
Joan has submitted the Grant Application for next year’s project for trail improvements in Sterling Marsh for $750.
Ed Chappel reported on his meeting with Les Russell, Baldwin District Ranger. Ed, Les and another person walked the trail through the marsh area to get an idea of what needed to be done. They have done "band-aid" fixes to the trail several times in the last 2 years. They have money in their operating budget next year for more trail work in this area. Ed indicated this should be a good working relationship. He also said that Les Russell had indicated that no permits would be needed for work on the trail.
