Report from Ed C.
Ed C. reported that on the last work day we removed the diamonds and re-blazed the trail from US 10 to 8th Street. He then brought up the problem that we are not getting enough people for work to be done. Only 4 people came for the work day. Removing diamonds and re-blazing trail was a substitute for the planned work in Sterling Marsh where we needed at least 8 people.
Joan said that successful trail clubs have a core group for trail work.
These comments lead to considerable discussion on trail needs and how to get more people for scheduled work days and projects. We need more communication about days and work planned.
Ed C. stated that the next work day (the following Saturday) is cancelled because no one has called to say they will be there to work.
A question was asked about assigned trail sections. Comment was made that this could be publicity in the Chapter Newsletter. Joan said there will be a postcard mailing soon.
Joan then said to bring all the ideas to the meeting September 14.
Joan then asked for September 14 ideas.

Mary said she is willing to continue as treasurer. Joan will not be President but indicated she would be secretary unless Ed M. wanted to continue. Ed M. said "No, it would not be fair to be away for the winter."
Plan for upcoming year meeting schedule- shall we decide, or let new Exec Corn?
Ed C. said the focus of the Chapter should be on trail maintenance but it is actually on trails Day. Someone suggested that we should make trail work the theme of Trails Day
