Scottville Riverside Park is maintained by the City of Scottville, 231-757-4304. There are about 2 1/2 miles of trail, fishing in the Pere Marquette River, and camping. You might combine your hike with a visit to the park on August 7-8 for the Old Engine Show.

Turn south at the stoplight on Main St. in Scottville and go about 1 mile to the river. The entrance to the park is on the east side of the road.

IMPORTANT- the question for this hike was changed on August 23. The cement mixer has been moved, and the trail past the Old Engine Club area has not been maintained this summer. There are trees down across the trail. Enjoy the shorter walk. Parking is free on either side of the road. Follow the Bottomland Trail as far as the Old Engine Club area to get this answer. Minimum distance required to get the answer to the question about 1/2 mile. The trail begins at a small wooden bridge just west of the campground office. The questions are listed on the entry form, and the question for this hike is on the printable information sheet.

The map below appears on the printable version, and should be adequate for this short hike. Also see Mason County Trails for a description of this trail.
