About 2 miles of walking can be done on trails which overlook the Hydroelectric Pumped Storage Project, just south of Ludington, and also connect to Mason County Campground. There's a 27-hole Frisbee golf course available too!

Go south from Ludington on old US 31, now Pere Marquette Highway. Turn left on Chauvez Rd in 3.5 miles. Go 2 miles to the T and turn left again, which is south on Lakeshore Drive. The parking area is located on the left in another mile. The driveway to the picnic area is a little sooner.

There is no fee to park here or at the picnic area. No public parking at Mason County Campground. Requested donation of $1 to play frisbee golf. Take the Vista Point Trail to get this answer. Minimum distance required to get the answer to the question about 0.25 mile. The questions are listed on the entry form, and the question for this hike is on the printable information sheet.

If you prefer to hike in a group, there will be a hike on this piece of trail as part of a Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association event on Saturday, August 14. We'll hike all the trails, and then have a picnic lunch. Meet 10 am at the picnic area. Contact person TBA.

The map below appears on the printable version, and should be adequate for this short hike. A paper map is available from Mason County Campground, P. O. Box 271, Ludington, MI 49431, 231-845-7609. Also see Mason County Trails for a description of these trails.
