You may take the hikes in any order you wish. The numbers are for identification only. The minimum distance required to get the answer is approximated, but it is hoped that you might hike more since you've gone to the trouble to travel to a trail! You may submit answers to one or more questions at any time. Each new answer will be added to your previous entry; only one entry per person will go into the drawing pool. If you change a previous answer the answer with the latest date will be used.

1. The Hike for Health Trivia Contest is being sponsored by the Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association. The contest is open to anyone with the exception of the few people who designed the contest. Persons under 18 may participate, but may need a parent or guardian to claim a prize.

3. Prizes will be awarded by random drawing of qualified contestants. To qualify for one of the four grand prizes, participants must answer all 15 trail trivia questions correctly. Those persons answering all 15 questions correctly will be entered into a randomly selected drawing for the following:
   • "rental" package of 2 backpacks, tents, sleeping bags and pads for 3 days: rental equipment from Eastern Mountain Sports, Traverse City, MI (value $110)
   • Winter Sports Fun, 5 24-hour rentals of X-country skiis or snowshoes, including boots and poles, from Provisions Sports Store of Ludington, MI (value $100)
   • a Frogg Toggs rain suit, donated by Business Print, Scottville, MI (value about $90)
   • Pentwater Beach Package, kite donated by Air Fun, Pentwater, MI; beach towel from Gustafsons Gifts, Pentwater, MI; ice cream and one-day State Park Pass from Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association (total value $89)
   Persons who answer 8-14 questions correctly, and the non-winning entries from the grand prize drawing will be entered in a randomly selected drawing for the following 4 prizes:
   • a $50 gift certificate from Outpost, Manistee, MI.
   • a $50 gift certificate to be used at the North Country Trail Association Trail Shop provided by the Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association
   • Lake County Fun Package, 3-4 hour canoe rental and trip transporation from Ivan's Canoes, Baldwin, MI; ice cream paid for by Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association (total value $45)
   • an Adidas hooded sweatshirt, size large, dark green from Snyder's Shoes, Manistee, MI (value $40)
   Persons who answer 1-7 questions correctly, and the non-winning entries from the previous drawings will be entered in a randomly selected drawing for the following 7 prizes:
   • a $25 gift certificate from North Country Cafe, Scottville, MI
   • a $25 gift certificate to be used at the North Country Trail Association Trail Shop provided by the Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association
   • a $25 gift certificate from House of Flavors, Ludington, MI
   • a $25 gift certificate from Emerson Lake Inn, Walhalla, MI
   • two adventure books: The Long Walk by Rawicz and We Die Alone by Howarth, donated by the Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association (about a $25 value)
   • a 2005 Michigan State Park pass provided by the Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association (value $24)
   • a 2005 Huron-Manistee National Forest Recreation vehicle pass provided by the Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association (value $20)
   To qualify for any prizes, participants must enter at least one correct answer.
4. All decisions of the judges are final.
5. All entries must be received by November 10, 2004. Winners will be notified by November 31, 2004.
6. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries.
