Segment 2, South Boundary Road to Big Iron River Bridge (east half)


Length: 1.75 miles from West Branch of Big Iron River to Big Iron River
Ownership: U.S. Forest Service
Responsible for maintenance: U.S. Forest Service
Developments along trail: Suspension bridge at Big Iron River
General description of segment: Flat to hilly, mixed older hardwoods/hemlocks and young growth, nice campsites west of West Branch bridge, other camping potential elsewhere on West Branch and near Big Iron River bridge, mountain bikes share part of trail.
Trail conditions (as of 2005): Trail was well-cleared and easy to follow.  A steep section where the trail descended a bluff along the West Branch received an informal reroute in 2005.
