Central New York Chapter members continue their quest for excellence with the goal of creating a guidebook for the Link Trail to be published in 2002. The effort is being headed by Mary Kunzler-Larmann.
The book will be shirt-pocket sized with many useful features. Fold-out-maps, cultural, historic, and natural feature notes will be included. There will be guidelines for hiking safety, private land considerations and more.
Any guidebooks to the North Country Trail are welcome! At the present time the Finger Lakes Trail offers books which covers most of their sections. The Buckeye Trail also offers books for a few portions of their trail. Guides to the Superior Hiking Trail are available from the SHTA. Rod MacRae has written a guide to the Chippewa National Forest. The Hutchins guidebook series for certified sections of the NCT are available from the NCTA Trail Shop. Wes Boyd's guide... useful for planning is available on line.
