2001 Appropriations Approved in Congress
October 7, 2000 Congress has passed the 2001 appropriations bill for the Department of the Interior, which includes funding allocated to the North Country Trail. Thanks to our advocacy efforts and all the help and contacts made by our volunteers, we've secured a significant increase in funding for the trail. So far, we don't know for certain how much will be included in the budget for the Madison NPS office, and how much of that will come to the NCTA through our cooperative agreement funding, but we still can celebrate in this great news! It could have a real impact on the future of our trail and our volunteer efforts. We'll keep you posted!
