Next segment: 28 - Crooked Lake Outlet to Craig Lake

Vehicle access for this segment:

  • from Marquette, take US-41 west through Champion and past Van Riper State Park. Just after crossing the Peshekee River turn right (north) onto County Road 607 (also known as the Peshekee Grade). This road is blacktopped but do not be deceived. It is very rough so drive slowly. From the US-41 / County Road 607 intersection, drive 4.2 miles to Dishno Road. There will be an "EMS Pickup" sign at the corner. Do not turn onto Dishno Road, instead stay on County Road 607 for 3.3 miles more and then turn left (N46 37.202 W88 01.997). (Note: The roads you follow for the rest of the way do not have names.) Follow this road for about 1.4 miles where it will make a turn to the right for about 0.2 mile when it will again make a sharp right. In about 0.6 mile this road turns sharply left N46 36.943 W88 03.629). Take the left in a southwest direction and continue for 2.9 miles, eventually going mostly northwest. You will end at N46 37.543 W88 06.119. This segment of the trail heading east begins northeast at N46 37.677 W88 05.914.
