- On the trail:
- Westbound: From the intersection of Lakeshore Blvd and Hawley Street in north Marquette, follow Hawley Street to the old railroad grade. The trail heads northwest along the old railroad grade, then on an unimproved road, cutting into the woods, crossing a road to the power plant, into the woods again and along the Dead River to the Camel Back Bridge, under the Dead River Bridge on County Road 550 and into the woods to the Tourist Park Trail Head.
- Eastbound: From the Tourist Park Trail Head follow the trail east into the woods, under the Dead River Bridge on County Road 550, across the Camel Back Bridge, into the woods along the Dead River, across the road to the power plant, into the woods again and then coming out on an unimproved road that turns into the old railroad grade, turning unto Hawley Street and ending at the intersection of Lakeshore Blvd and Hawley Street.
- in any of the parking areas along Lakeshore Blvd
- parking lot at the end of Presque Isle Avenue, north of Hawley Street to the east
- at the Camel Back Bridge just north of the intersection of Hawley Street and Sugarloaf Avenue on County Road 550
- at the Tourist Park Trail Head north of the Dead River Bridge on County Road 550
- From the Marquette City Bike Trail along Lake Superior, you pick up the NCT on the northern side of town at Hawley Street. If you wish to take a side trip, stay on the Marquette City Bike Trail north to Presque Isle Park. Hike around the park and then return to Hawley Street from the north. From here go west on this segment to the railroad crossing. The trail takes you through the Marquette City Tourist Park.
