As you get out and hike this or any of our segments, please contact the trail adopter or Cliff Stammer (906-228-9897 / cnstammer@charter.net) with reports of trail conditions, including blow-downs, washouts, and inadequate blazing.

Trail work this spring went well but a bridge that often washes out was found to be lying parallel with and in the stream as well as slightly downstream of the trail. In early September a crew of three worked with a come-along, lots of rope, and brute strength to pull the bridge into position. In addition it was raised in the hopes of preventing this recurring problem next spring.

Cliff and Bruce attaching the come-along with the bridge parallel with and in the stream bed.

Preparing the bridge for its final resting place across the stream.

The happy crew, Lorana, Bruce, and Cliff, after a morning of great work.
