On the trail:

Westbound: From Echo Lake Road cross Country Road 550 and take a road walk on Eagle’s Nest Road north for about 3 miles until it again crosses back over County Road 550 and into the parking area of the Elliott Donnelley Wilderness.

Eastbound: Leaving the Elliott Donnelley Wilderness parking area, cross County Road 550 and into Eagle’s Nest Road. Take the road walk down until it emerges out onto County Road 550 again, cross County Road 550 and end after a 0.1 mile road walk on Echo Lake Road.

Vehicle access for this segment:

  • Echo Lake Road. Take County Road 550 approximately 8.7 miles north of the intersection of County Road 550 and Sugarloaf Avenue in Marquette, turn left onto Echo Lake Road. Drive this 0.1 mile road walk portion of the trail and park as it turns to the left. Be sure not to block Echo Lake Road as you park here.

  • County Road 550 approximately 8.7 miles north of the intersection of County Road 550 and Sugarloaf Avenue in Marquette, turn right into an old road area just prior to Eagles Nest Road. Park, walk across County Road 550 and down Echo Lake Road where the trail begins heading south east.

  • the Elliott Donnelley Wilderness parking area 12 miles north of Marquette on County Road 550.
