The Trail Is Complete!
The only step remaining on this project at this time is to apply for
certification which is scheduled for December 2009
The section through the extensive wetlands to the east of the Schoolcraft River is a temporary trail. The design and funding are only in the
preliminary stages for the permanent trail that will be constructed in this
area. The plan is to take the trail
out from firm ground beyond the tree line into the wetlands with a
beautiful view of the Schoolcraft
River valley. The trail then will return into the tree
line and to firm ground. At best
this project will be completed in 2011, more likely in 2012.
