Soldier Lake Campground
Soldier Lake Campground offers a great hiking experience for campers or day hikers.  Miles of the North Country National Scenic Trail meander through the Hiawatha National Forest.  The  trail skirts the western edge of the day use area via a spur from the day use parking lot.  The fireplace in the pavilion is great for warming up and gathering round for hot dog roasts.  The campground is well located  20 miles west of I 75 (exit 386) and five miles east of Strongs on M 28. The following pictures are from hikes taken in the area during the last year. We will be having a hike there on January 9, 2010. A hot dog roast and potluck will follow. Last years pictures can be viewed at: http://www.northcountrytrail.org/hss/hssphotopage/jan09hike.htm.
