>>> The evening's presentation: Yooper Tours: On the North Country Trail by Alex Maier

Last year we met Alex when he hiked up to us as we were working on the beaver dam near Lynch Creek, Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Alex had a video camera and was recording his hike across the UP. Alex says, "Hiking on the North Country Trail around Marquette is what introduced me to backpacking when I moved up here to attend NMU. Every time I wanted to go a little bit farther than last time and photograph the adventure, so eventually I just decided to hike across the whole U.P. Along the way, I filmed a series of episodes about each section I hiked, called “Yooper Tours: on the North Country Trail”.
