Harbor Springs Chapter
Home Page

The Harbor Springs Chapter is responsible for developing and maintaining the North Country National Scenic Trail in Emmet County, or roughly from Mackinaw City to Petoskey, about 46 miles. Trails in this area pass through large public land tracts, including parts of Wilderness State Park.

If you have questions about our Chapter or the trail we maintain, please call or email any of the officers. We stay in close contact through email and what one person can’t answer another can.

Next Group Event

Saturday, July 11

Luke "Strider" Jordan will be hiking a section of the Jordan Valley 45, and then doing a presentation at North Central Michigan College.  Jordan Valley 45 has graciously invited us to join them.  Luke hiked the entire 4,600 miles of the NCT in 2013.  He is committed to motivating young and old alike to get out and get hiking.

We will hike to the Cherry Valley Overlook and back, 5 miles.  We will meet at the corner of Harmon Rd and Welsh Rd. at 2pm. Google "Welsh Rd. Petoskey, MI" for a map. If you want to abbreviate your hike, meet us at the Welsh Rd. trail crossing (1/2 miles south) at 2:30, which will knock off about 2 miles.  After the hike, we will go to the college library conference room for Luke's presentation at 6pm.  You are, of course, welcome to skip the hike and just attend his presentation.  The hike and Luke's talk are open to the public, so please share this information and the attached flier.
