We are heading to an area where we would like to reroute the NCT off of the Shore-to-Shore Trail south of Sheck’s Place Campground on the Boardman River. Dick Naperala and Arlen Matson have done some exploring in this area and have found some beautiful large white pine trees along 22-Mile Creek. Let’s go have a look! This three to four hour hike will be primarily off trail. For exact meeting time and directions to the trailhead, call John or Lois at (231) 938-9655 or e-mail johnheiam@charter.netSunday, Feb. 27, 2005

We will meet at the Muncie Lakes trailhead parking lot off Ranch Rudolf Road (about one mile east of the intersection with Rennie Lake Road). If the snow is gone, we will just hike. If the weather looks really bad, call Mike Schaeffer or Debby Page at (231) 947-9379 to see if the hike will take place.Sunday, Apr. 3, 2005
Vasa Trail - Hike
Time: 1:00 PM
Leaders: John Heiam & Lois Goldstein
We will meet at the main VASA trailhead and walk the 10 K loop, picking up all the small debris that is left behind by a winter’s worth of skiers. In previous years we have found ski pole baskets, power bar wrappers, and ski wax wrappers. This is not a big job. It is a pleasant walk at a casual pace with friends. If the weather is really bad, call John or Lois at (231) 938-9655 to find out if the hike is still going to take place.
