Hike
the Dolan Trail
in southeast Kent County not
far from Freeport. Meet for breakfast at
Hastings Big Boy at 8:00 AM.
Caravan to the
Maher Sanctuary parking area at 9:30 AM and hike from there.
We can also walk
the loop in the Maher Sanctuary if there's time and interest.
(We recommend
letting the Webmaster know if you plan to participate, so
we'll know to wait for you if you're held up. We don't
want to take off and leave you!)

National Trails
Day -- sponsored by
the American Hiking Society.
We are planning to
participate in the
Cerulean Warbler Festival involving the NCNST in
Yankee Springs. Trained CNC members headed by Charlie Krammin
will guide hikes on the NCNST south of M-179 in quest of the
Cerulean Warbler's call. This would be in lieu of the hike at Ft. Custer
which we had planned earlier for this day. Further details TBA. |

-- Blazing Day.
We will work on getting all roadwalks in our bailiwick
properly blazed. Some sections (e.g., Homer to Marshall) are
already done, others are spotty or not done at all. Some blazing
needs rejuvenating. Mick has been saving his peanut
butter jars. We'll meet for breakfast at 8:00 AM at the
Bob Evans at Battle Creek and disperse from there. |
