Work gets under way near the north end of the Trail on the John Gay property where the Trail passes through a relatively hilly area resulting from ancient glacial activity.  The trail tread was narrow, tilted toward the downhill side, uneven, and not particularly pleasant to walk on.   From left: Ron Sootsman, Larry Hawkins, and Larry's son Ben Hawkins.
