Below is an OVERVIEW MAP of Chief Noonday's section of the North Country National Scenic Trail.  It is provided by the GIS/cartography staff of the NCTA office in Lowell.  Our thanks especially to Matt Rowbotham.

Outlined on this overview map are submaps of the Barry County, Kalamazoo County, Battle Creek, and Marshall areas.  Click anywhere on each submap below to access a larger scale image of that map.  On each submap page you can also access a .pdf version of that submap which you can print out on your home computer printer.

The Barry County, Kalamazoo County, Battle Creek and Marshall area submaps have a useful interactive feature.  It is a map link system in which you can click on the trailhead that interests you, and you will be taken to a Google map with a link you can use to generate driving directions to that trailhead from your home or other starting point of your choice.  (A number of trail-road intersections are similarly linked.  To check an intersection, point to it with your mouse, and if the cursor turns into a little hand , it's linked.)

Another good bet for obtaining up-to-date and detailed map information on the Chief Noonday section of the North Country National Scenic Trail is to obtain maps NCTA MI-01 and NCTA MI-02 directly from the North Country Trail Association's Trail Shop.

Chief Noonday's Own Map Mash-ups

In 2009 we began a program of using an on-line Web utility GPS Visualizer to generate maps of NCNST off-road sections based on our own on-ground GPS tracking.  Here are the initial fruits of our efforts — with more to follow as we acquire the data.

Along with these maps we plan to post links to printable versions which you can take with you on the trail — and some of the first ones are linked below.
