Dressed and geared up for a November hike, the group spotted vehicles at the Portage District Library and set out along the trail beside Portage's Central Cemetery.  From left: Larry Pio, Carla Verbrugge, Susan Bond, Melonie Curtis, Ron Sootsman, Larry Hawkins, Joe Higdon, Mike Wilkey, and Steve Hicks.  We'd become separated from Mary Armitage and Janet Schnell, who ended up hiking separately from the other end of the trail.  Mick Hawkins was on the other side of the camera, as usual.
