October 9- Fall Color Hike. (Enjoy the beauty) Led by Joe Higdon Ott Preserve-near Kimball Pines off East Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek; north on Arlington to parking area at 9 am. From Interstate 94, take exit 100, go north to Michigan Avenue, then East to Arlington (near the McDonalds). November 20- Night Hike (We are not alone). Led by Joe Higdon Kellogg Forest- approximately a 3-mile hike at 7pm.

Volunteer Opportunities Trail Care: Sept. 25. Meet at McDonald’s in Richland at 8:00a.m. for breakfast and then go to Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. For those who are not interested in breakfast please meet the group at Kellogg School on 40th St. at 9:00 a.m. Remember: Your volunteer NCT shirt is awaiting your arrival, please join us for this day of trail improvement!
Summerfest Summerfest went well with a lot of help. Our booth was manned for all three days and we talked to lots of people, generated interest in the trail and recruited some new members. Dave Cornell, Sue Bond, Barb VanDyken, Steve Hicks, John Rudnicki, Eileen Oehler, Larry Pio, Sheryl Drenth, Jerry Pattok, Joe Higdon and Larry Hawkins staffed the booth. Special thanks to Dave and Barb for taking extra shifts and Jerry, Charles Krammin & Joe Higdon (and Rachel) for constructing and deconstructing our awesome booth.
