Newsletter Chapter Meeting February 14, 2001 TREASURERS REPORTBob Benham reports from sunny Florida we have $1,626.06 on account. TRAILS REPORT You may remember Charles Krammin reporting that Kimball Pines and parts of the Ott Preserve have been flagged for future trail construction. The next step is to have the approval of the Calhoun County Community Development, since they manage these lands. One of those that will be exploring and hopefully approving these segments is none other than Annette Chapman, fellow North Country Trail member and county employee! Isnt it nice to have friends in high places? PROMOTION Requests keep rolling in for the North Country Trail to represent itself at various events. If you know of an event that promotes the outdoors, families, or nature, please contact Tom Funke so he can let them know we are out there. MEMBERSHIP MATTERS! We are always looking for new members. As our chapter grows and continues to build trail, it is important to have our community in the know and on board with our dream to see this longest of trails completed. One of our goals we mentioned a few months back is to increase minority membership in our chapter. Another is to get local mover and shakers in the community to become members. Make it a personal goal of yours to recruit at least one member from each of the above groups this year. If everyone recruited just two members, we would become the largest chapter of the NCTA!!
