NCNST through the Ott Biological Preserve

Here is a map or aerial image (your choice!) showing the current track of the North Country National Scenic Trail through the Ott Biological Preserve, Emmett Township in Calhoun County.

Note the following regarding this map:

  • The red track shows the NCNST connector trail roadwalk coming north into the Arlington Avenue trailhead from Michigan Avenue to the south.

  • The green track shows the off-road NCNST route through the Preserve between the Arlington Avenue and Jameson Avenue trailheads.  There are other trails in the Preserve which intersect with the NCNST at the indicated waypoints on the map.

By playing with the drop-down menus in the upper right corner of the map image you can:

  • tone down the background layer to better visualize details on the ground, and

  • select whether the background layer is a Google™ street map, terrain map, a satellite image, or a USGS topo map.  Scroll the image to the right if necessary to activate the background layer selection menu

By using the map tool in the upper left corner you can also zoom in or out, and you can drag the image to change the center point.  Zooming in, then click 'n dragging the map in whichever direction you want, makes it easier to make sense of the marked waypoints, which in places are a bit bunched together otherwise.

You can download a PDF file of this map in topo form to take with you on the Trail.  Click here and print the page on your computer printer.
