(Left) Jim Martin and his tractor made short work of lowering this trail kiosk.  Here the kiosk on its now-shortened legs is lowered back into place with guidance from Jeff Fleming and Steve Hicks.  (Right) Bob Cooley and Kara Haas apply a fresh coat of stain to the stairway leading up to the Trail from the parking loop.  Kara is a Western Michigan University student working at the W. K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary.  This former stairway-to-nowhere was already in place long before the North Country Trail segment was re-routed to pass right by it, so we didn't hesitate to adopt it and put it to good use.
