On the Trail to Bemidji:  Bemidji, Minnesota, the site of this year's national conference of the North Country Trail Association, is located in the western reaches of the North Country National Scenic Trail.  For many NCTA members, it was a long drive -- 800-plus miles for the Chief Noonday contingent -- and a number of members camped their way through Michigan's Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin.  Here Larry Hawkins prepares lunch at Winoka Lake National Forest Campground in Wisconsin's Chequamegon National Forest.
