Welcome to the on-line home of the
Chief Baw Beese Chapter of the
North Country Trail — 4,600 miles stretched
across seven states all made possible by the hard work of more than 800
volunteers each year. This is the Great Lakes, the Northwoods, the path
of westward expansion — a footpath linking communities from New York to
North Dakota.Click above to visit NCTA home. |

Lake #8 in Lost Nation State Game Area.
The Baw Beese Chapter is responsible for
developing and maintaining the North Country National
Scenic Trail from the place where it leaves the Wabash
Cannonball Trail in Ohio (about ten miles south of the
border with Michigan) It then heads north, through Hillsdale
County, to the Calhoun County border. Existing trail in
this range includes segments in Lost Nation State Game
Area and the
Baw Beese Trail in
the city of Hillsdale.
